Measurement methods, data from adjustments and instrument checks as
well as measurement results can be stored on memory cards. This, for
example, allows measurement methods to be easily transferred from one
instrument to another.
Ofcial methods
The DE45/DE51 density meters and the DR40/45 Combined Meters have built-in
tables to convert density into sugar content in Brix (Table 109, NBS Circular 440),
Alcohol content in Vol-% (Table N° 3, NBS Circular 19, OIML Table IVa) as well as
for temperature compensation according to API (ASTM D 1250, Table 53A, 53B
and 53D). The RE refractometers and the DR Combined Meters use an ofcial
table (ICUMSA) to convert refractive index to Brix, or HFCS42

or HFCS55

cal Properties Table Corn Products, 1991).
Easy entry of sample data
When individual samples or series of samples are measured, the instrument has
to be told what is to be measured (sample data), how the measurements are to
be performed (methods) and who is operating the system (user name). The pos-
sibility of entering sample les in dialog form or directly as a table, as well as the
barcode reader, make the transfer of all necessary GLP data quick and easy.
Statistical evaluations as required
Statistical evaluation of measurement values can be performed as desired when
the measurements are completed (stored results) or automatically after each
measurement.
Efcient exchange of data
All the DE/RE/DR models have three serial interfaces for the connection of a
printer, bar code reader and a computer. The DataCapture software allows mea-
sured values to be acquired in the PC either directly into Microsoft EXCEL tables or
as ASCII text les.

On request, we can supply you with concentration tables in the form of
memory cards containing up to 200 pairs of data for special applications.
Your local METTLER TOLEDO representative will be happy to help you.
